Ok, well I've been silent for a couple of days, but I ran into a problem and I'm hoping you know the answer.
I'm doing a system for discovery, basically it's the Farmer's Alliance guard system, but I can't get Disco to open in FL Explorer.
Ok, no problem, so I start copying just the system files into a fresh mod. I've copied the files from the system folder, and the universe.ini. (I've also changed it so I start the game in system, so the JHs don't need to work)
It works until I try to launch from the base and then FL crashes. Does anyone know any other files I need other than the system folder and the universe.ini?

Ok, let me rephrase because it looks kinda confusing.
I'm just trying to look at one system, Bw13.
I copied Bw13 out of the system folder and the relevant data out of universe.ini.

FLE hates XML files & Discovery has 4 big ones, change thier file type to TXT and FLE will ignore them, but any market files you make will be missing the Goods from those XML files.

I've got Disco open in FLE, but I think I'll keep working on my system-copying thing. Haven't been working on it for a few days (Memorial Day and what not), but there are some things I'd like to do before I give up hope.

Sorry for the double post, ... but is there anything that I can download that can decompress the DLL files? I've look in the usual places, but haven't found anything.

There was a tool called FLIDREF v106 that was quite handy. Gave you a complete list of what was in any FL related DLL file. Hex editing is another way but its boring and complicated.
