Hey everyone. I'm having a bit of an issue getting my Freelancer to work.
I did a clean install and, on the suggestion of another player from a different mod, extracted my Galactica 2.0 client information by dropping the 'flmod' out of it's name and putting it into my game folder, bypassing the FLMM altogether.
Everything worked fine save for the part when I chose the Galactica server and made a character. It will go that far and say 'Loading' a moment before dropping back to me desktop with the music still playing. A few moments later, it crashes the rest of the way.
I have been chomping at the bit to play this mod. Any assistance would be most appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help.

Ok, well not wishing to be rude in any way but just use Mod Manager to install it. The reason you're having problems is you're trying to install it using some daft method that someone has told you and now you're having issues. Hardly a surprise really What annoys me with posts like this is that if you could be bothered to read how to install the mod as i originally posted then you wouldn't be having these issues to start with.[glow=red,2,300] JUST FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS!!![/glow]

Hardly a surprise really What annoys me with posts like this is that if you could be bothered to read how to install the mod as i originally posted then you wouldn't be having these issues to start with.[glow=red,2,300] JUST FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS!!![/glow] Actually, with all due respect Gibbon-san, I had already followed your instructions to the letter previously and have found that FLMM 1.3 to be -completely- ill-successful at loading the Galacatica mod. It will either fail to install the mod via freezing or the mod will be deemed unlikely to work properly via the 'won't properly activate' error message. The method I used was an alternate method that has worked with similar mods(the Freeworlds mod, specifically) and has gotten me farther than the standard installation instructions as they are written.. I had hoped there where other, backdoor methods to get this done as FLMM has fallen short of expectation time and time again without fail in this endeavor. And that the responses I would receive would be less in tune with ' just read the instructions n00b'. But, perhaps I was incorrect in that sentiment. A change in tactics then. If there are any suggestions on how to get FLMM to no longer be a flaming pile of lose to me with this mod, I would gladly welcome them. I have downloaded the Galactica 2.0 client as posted here, in these boards, and on Mod DB. Neither have been successful to date. If there is another version I need to have, I would be appreciative for that information as well. I thank you, Crassie, for you timely, helpful, and respectful response. Thank you in advance for any further assistance rendered.

I suggest you try this, reinstall FL. Install FLMM again and then just double click on the galactica 2.0 mod so it will install itself to FLMM. Then when it's installed in FLMM activate the mod. The FLMM will take it's time doing this, and the FLMM window will in some cases turn just white and look like it's freezing. This is most often not the case just let it work till it's done. Then it should be no problem in connecting to the server.
If you run into problems, plz explain them as much as possible.

Third time's the charm. I finally got it together.
Caught a tidbit on the Freeworlds forum that, coupled with Crassie's suggestion to reinstall FLMM, gave me the answer I was seeking to solve this issue.
Thank you so much for you patient, respectful assistance. I look forward to seeing you all in the black.
