In the new version of Phoenix 1.05, there's a new thing you can do which is change your resolution to include widescreen monitors.
You simply goto the options screen, choose your new resolution which is normally your desktop resolution as it picks up on that, very important, RELOAD your character and it should then function fine.
Sometimes you have to completely logout and then login again to see it all working properly but trust me, it does work. I'm running mine in 1680x1050 without issues.
Let me know your thoughts on this or post any issues here and we'll see if we can sort it.

yeah, windows 7 professional 64 bit.
btw, couldnt resist, logged on yesterday after installing the mod. widescreen is really awesome! Takes a little bit to get used to. And running 1900X1200 on 32x is a bit heavy for my current pc. but it looks great.
I hope to get the new pc next week...

Thing to remember with the way it works atm is to try not to minimise the screen as it all goes south until you reload your char. I run mine at 1680x1050 and it looks great for me as well.
