Like quite a few pilots in Elite Dangerous, i've decided to take a trip to the centre of the universe in my Asp Explorer, the 'Golden Nugget'. I left on Sunday 07/02/16 from Jameson Memorial in the Shinrarta Dehzra system and pointed the nose at the centre of the galaxy. I'm currently about 1500 LY out, no reported issues thus far, nothing spectacular discovered either as many others have made the journey along this route. Will post up some pictures as and when i land.
As a side note, i chose the Asp Explorer because i can take an SRV with me and go for a drive when i find a planet of interest on my journey. Obviously i have the Horizons addon which allows me to do this. Why is my ship called the 'Golden Nugget' i hear you ask? Well Frontier recently gave away a gold paint job for the Asp and strangely i quite like it on this ship, so did a quick repaint before i left, hence the name

Past the 3500 LY mark now, less and less systems that i've come across where others have been. Still not seen any earth style planets but encountered a number of water worlds which is nice. Shame i couldn't land on any of them. Found a couple of planets that for me looked cool, the brown coloured one was an ammonia world.

After making it as far as NGC 6357, i noticed that my ship the 'Golden Nugget', had developed some faults in the modules department. Seeing as i only bought a limited amount of hull repair nanites and used the damn things up repairing my ship, i'm now forced to turn around and head back to civilised space to get some more. This wasn't an issue on my other exploration ship, but it clearly is on my Asp Explorer. I'm not actually sure why i've started developing faults on my ship, a few close calls with some suns and planets i've gotten too close to, which to be fair, have seriously damaged my ship, might have something to do with it. If i was to carry on, i know i'd have bigger issues and probably wouldn't make it back. This would make weeks of flying worthless. At least this way, i can make it to civilisation and then i'll have to see what i'm going to do. A couple of shots of some random planets i've found on the way back with my next pit stop being the Cat's Paw Nebula.
