how come some jump holes are locked, example, sigma 13 to new berlin, the hole is still by Yanagi but you cant access it, why not just remove it?

Thing to remember about jumpholes is some are from single player and remain locked in multiplayer. On a vanilla server like **UK SERVER** because no mods are run, when the server was setup originally everything was left au naturel so to speak so some gates stay locked. In our mod for instance, Galactica Hellgate, all the jumpholes are open which makes flying around easier. NightstalkerYes you can make them one way. Locate your initialworld.ini and put the hashcode for your jumphole in there, no colon before it and there you go locked_gate = hashcode ; AA01_to_BB01_hole Don't forget to do a server wipe if ur doing this or it won't work, includes deleting the MP folder in my documents/games/freelancer/multiplayer

If it's a new server then simply removing the semi colon in front of the gates and holes entries in initialworld.ini will open them. Doing this with loads of people already registered is a huge problem as it means going into each persons account and modifying the gates and holes manually. Only do this if opening the gates and holes when starting a server.

I seem to remember an invisible hole in one vanilla system, I jumped in but couldn't see it to jump out again, can't remember which system though.
Set this parameter in the system's .ini file for the hole to make it invisible:
visit = 128

The two holes you are refering to are the Omega-3 to Cambridge (Cambridge side) and the Cambridge to Leeds (Leeds side) jumpholes. Personally, I don't believe a "locked" jumphole would exist in nature. It may be intermitant, such as the SP game NPC comments, "It seems to be phase alligned". To play the game, I leave them locked to preserve the game's essense, but if I unlock them, I keep the NPCs from using them. As Gibbon says, they can be one-way. As difficult as travel is in the Sirius Arm, There should be more jumpholes. At least a few.
