RIGHT ON !! I watch this show all the time! But I've never seen this episode. This is totaly with it! Absolutely LOVED it! I find it very hard to aruge with, except for the glaring exclusion of some of Buel's contributions to motorcycle racing. Now I'm not just saying that because Harley Davidson owns Buel. Buel started as its own company. During that time they developed the MDR 2400 and it dominated the race circuits for far longer than the Ducati 916 ever did. This in the late 1960's to early 70's. If I remember right Harley Davidson was owned by another campany, AMF, at the time. Thats when a member of the Davidson family aquired a substantial holding in Buel, and then used that to leverage Harley Davidson back to the Davidson family. But Any way Buel is Still a stand out Company that seriously should have been recognized on this list. It's to bad they got left out. Love this show, this episode is Totaly tops in my book! I think the reason Buell didn't get mentioned is while they might have been big in their day in the US, racing wise they didn't do a lot on the rest of the planet. All those bikes on show in that video are bikes known the world over, therefore popular for various reasons, although the gas turbine bike is maybe a special case as that's totally insane, designed by a madman while high on drugs, of that i am certain lol

Aside from being on 2 wheels, Is it really a motorcycle? I suppose the enginering is innovative enough to get it on the list. but still...??. I see your point about Buel to. Even today they still aren't a very large outfit. But what about the Sunbeam Rocket? Not very many produced. Not especially inovative. But ask any Collector around, its still one of the most sought after collectables in history. One was auctioned off at Southerby's for over 3 million pounds in 2001. This from a company known for making TOASTERS? Kitchen appliances aren't very challenging let's try our hand at MOTORCYCLES!! LOLROTF!! what a crazy world we live in

Doesn't help either that Buell got closed down last year. Technically they are still about but Erik Buell Racing (as it is now) only make race bikes. I can think of loads of other bike manufacturers and models that could have made the top ten as well, just for novelty value if nothing else

Closed down? there are still brand new Buel Lightning models siting on show room floors in Harley shops.. at least in my neck of the woods. Coulden't hurt to ask around though. So aside from those laghfable cub scooters who would you nominate as top bike? Personally I'd Have to go back to the beginning when the Bavarian Motor Works came out with the LM50 in 1861, (1871?) Not the first Motorcycle But the first ever attemped production model. Talk about starting a johnra.

Buell got closed down almost a year ago. What you are seeing is leftover stock. According to the Buell website, they are almost sold out of everything they had left. In fact they have 46 bikes left for sale in the US. Check here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buell_Motorcycle_CompanyAs to which bikes should be in the list? BMW R75, a true icon of the 70's and 80's in europe at least. The police used them in loads of countries for years, nearly everyone i know had one at some point, still useful today if you can find a good one. I must admit to always liking beemers, had quite a few of them over the years.

Don't you mean the K75 (3 cilinder block that is also called a flying brick).
Very decent bikes with low maintenance, they just can't be broken.
