Hey Gibbon, I'm downloading this mod. I've played Phoenix. Great Work man, I'm really looking forward for this. Do you have a list of the ships, prices and the places to get them???
And the question everyone wants to know... are there larger ships than the gunboats to buy in this mod?

Hiya, list of ships is in the README file. Where to get them, you'll have to find them lol. Also a heads up on the gunboats, they dock at the major planets at the mooring fixtures only and at large bases like Newark and Bonn station. No plans as yet for bigger ships, but there a lot more gunboats on offer in Genesis, like the new pirate ones

Hi gibbon, loving the mod. Started playing it few days ago so have only scouted out the main systems. Ive completed the vanilla game years ago, but have always wanted more to explore, so thank you for this mod.
I have a problem getting permission to buy the Kusari very heavy fighter "konoe shidan" on the battleship Matsumoto in the Hokkaido system. Ive grinded the Kusari navy missions till both Kusari navy and Samura corp are maxed, and Kusari police high but not max and I still am not allowed to buy it. do all three have to be maxed? I always hated how the message was so vague as to not include the factions needed to be made happy. perhaps you can fix that.
I made enough money quickly through trade to buy the Kusari gunship but was sorely disappointed to find out only planets and really big stations could moor it. As I had only gathered the commodities info of the main systems I realized I could never get a full info list of the mods places to dock in or trade in a lucrative commodity found only at a small station so I abandoned that save game and reverted to the right before I bought it. Unless you add mooring facilities to all the stations to my mind the gunships will have to be "endgame" ships. Though I think if you could figure out a way around the ridiculous restriction of only being able to own one ship it wouldn't be a problem. I used to play Eve Online and players could own as many as they could afford. Perhaps a special hanger at stations the a player could park an unused ship?
Also I think the missiles taking up cargo space idea should not be in the single player mod. Cargo ships need homing missiles to compensate for their terrible turn rate. The games NPC's won't complain about getting spammed by them.
Mining has always been borked in the game as pirates interrupt any attempts to gather enough lucrative raw commodities to be worth the time and effort. Ive been in fields where pirates show up every minute (real time) it's impossible to make money doing it the way it is. Perhaps a tweak of spawn rates, inclusion of defender drones, or perhaps cloaked mining ships or cloaking ship modules could make mining a viable option. Maybe all three hehe.
I'm really enjoying the mod so far and feel I have only scratched the surface.

Hi noville and welcome to the forum. Nice fat first post so i'll see what i can answer for you The Konoe Shidan issue. It's actually a bug, (good find btw), a typo on my part sadly. The good news, is that you can buy it on any of the other Kusari Battleships without a problem, it's just the Matsumoto that's affected. Already fixed for the next update. The large gunboats are deliberately set up like that and that won't change. This is why the pirate gunboats exist. They have a slightly smaller hold (750), but can dock anywhere. A lot of the smaller stations only have space for freighters or transports, they were never designed to take capitals anyway. The other thought was that the big gunboats, because of their hold size, can trade and make so much money anyway on the major routes, no point in allowing them to go to the outlying systems as well. I'll have a look at your idea for the OSP version about missiles. the reason it's done in the MP version like it is, is to keep missile spamming down, as it adds so much lag when loads of players launch endless streams of missiles at each other. I appreciate in the OSP version that isn't an issue. The mining issue. Yes it's not the greatest i agree. You can still mine, just be quick in tractoring in the loot. This is why i made ALL the miners, gas and asteroid, to be dockable. If you can't be bothered mining, just go and buy what you need very cheaply on the miners, saves time If you find any more bugs, or what you think is a bug, just post it in the bugs section. Cheers for the comments, keep them coming

Thank you for your speedy reply Gibbon,
I'm relieved it's only a bug for that battleship , which by the way gave my Pachyderm a hell of a time trying to dock in it. Half the time it just kept looping under the battleship and had to retry, even got me killed twice trying to bring back the secret military loot from those three ships in the northern cloud by the navy ships.
I don't understand why the police forces consider "pirate pilots" as contraband. I mean as I see it I'm bringing loathsome criminals to justice, and all I get is a clobbering for all my trouble. I wish I got a a small automatic bounty for every pirate I blew up.
The Pachyderm made me a buttload of money running the New London > Tokyo route. Space bunnies and banned lumber were the best but surprised me as not being contraband despite their descriptions. Not that I want that to change, lol. You know what would be invaluable, a master commodities list that could be called up like the limited one at each system. It might be too convenient though, take all the work out of trading ha.
I'm very glad to hear that the pirate gunships can dock anywhere, too bad all the pirate factions hate me already. "So i killed your mates, what's the problem?" hehe. This news made up my mind to finally try a pirate character. The Kusari gunship specs were just insane and it looks great despite the big honking gun on the bow. My favorite new ship is the Coyote. Its sexy looking and kicks ass to boot. I've reverted back to it to finish up my system scouting. Advanced navy armor makes it pretty sturdy. The only thing about the armor upgrades is the new armor value doesn't register on the ships spec sheet. Is there a site or resource that has a picture and specs for all the added/unlocked ships?
I had no idea the miners were dock-able now, huzzah. Btw the same night I posted I found the nice and quite (relatively) gold field in the Dublin system, but the Coyotes hold was too small to take advantage, I made sure to make a mental note though. I know it's more efficient to simply buy the raws but I like the sense of immersion and the option to role play a miner\trader character. That and it's relaxing in a zen sort of way after fighting pirates and space fanatics. Eve online has a full realization of that, and I'm convinced they took a lot of inspiration from freelancer
How easy/difficult is it to build new systems? A viral infection has made me a paraplegic so I don't have much to do nowadays. I've been stuck in a hospital room for the past four months, but they have good WiFi So if the process doesn't involve complex programming I'de be happy to spend some time building some to contribute. I used to make some dungeons and exteriors for Morrowind and Oblivion for my own pleasure using their creation kits. If there's something similar for Freelancer I'm sure I could get the hang of it.Simple scripts are about the most I can handle.
Oh and I just remembered there is another bug I encountered. The nav points don't stick to the gates in the Tau29 system. Well I think its 29, it's the one that's one giant ice field en route to New Tokyo from London. I do long range waypoint setting and only noticed the waypoint assigned itself directly to the jump gate instead along the chain of system gates after I jumped into it.
Holy crap this post is even longer.

Pachyderm docking, yes erm... move really close to the bay doors on the kusari battleship, then hit dock Pirate pilots are contraband because... the police should be moving them around, not you, they are criminals, therefore illegal. This is the reason the police will take them off you. A comedy moment the other day, bounty hunter relieves me of two pirate pilots, police then scan the bounty hunter, bear in mind these are both legal factions, bounty hunter refuses to hand them over, huge firefight, couldn't stop laughing. Lumber and bunnies ARE contraband and the police WILL be looking for them in the update No site for specs on new ships, not stopping anyone from creating one if they feel like it. Regarding making systems, it's a time consuming process with lots of trial and error, but there is a sort of solution. FLExplorer. There are three tutorials to help you get going which you can download from the modding section here on Gizmos gizmostudios.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=moddingtipstutorials&action=display&thread=365Link here for the FLExplorer program the-starport.net/freelancer/download/singlefile.php?cid=2&lid=25Try that and be ready to tear your hair out lol

The HellHound!! ;D
This is the first time I have flown this ship in any mod, and even though I do not have it set up to my favorite options yet, the one thing I have to say about it is: I LIKE THIS SHIP!!!
I have only done one mission, and a couple of free kills with it so far, but I am thoroughly impressed.

I need to put more patrols on Gamma to prevent these civilians buying and using a refined equipment....

Yesterday, I fought a couple of the Fugatives SabreTooth ships, and one other ship I did not get a classification of. The SabreTooth ships were about the most difficult to take down that I have come up against in this mod. (If I can ever get my rep back up for Fugatives, I will have to test that one out for a while.)

On the off-chance you might check this thread a year later Lonewolf, I found that the bartender in the Zoner base in Tortuga (Jake's Bar and Grill I think?) lets you buy friendly faction with the Fugitives. Cost me 130k, and did not appear to negatively affect any other factions.
I just need to find a Fugitive base/planet now and check me out a Sabertooth myself!

You'll be heading to the Omicron systems then, as there are three bases available to dock at there
