I've decided to make our solar system as an addon for the mod. Now before anyone says anything about the solar system being destroyed by the Nomads, it depends which intro video you watch. If we stay with the original video, then it's all about the war between the Alliance and the Coalition and the escape of the sleeper ships to Sirius. There is nothing in the original video about the Nomads. In the second, longer intro video, the Nomads make an appearance and blow our solar system to hell. I chose to go with the original video, which has allowed me to make this new addon for Genesis. This will comprise of 10 systems, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Asteroid Belt, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. A bit of modding history: I already made these systems years ago for another mod i was making, but that got shelved due to the mods size and scope which, to be fair, was simply too big to do and i kind of got lost in it. Now i've grabbed certain features from that mod, and bolted them onto Genesis which is a big enough job in itself, but it's worked. All the new systems are now up and running. First system is actually completed. Making each planet a system, it's easier to get a sense of scale. I've grabbed the latest NASA images for the planet textures. This is Mercury. Progress is slow but steady. Mercury is finished, so have moved onto Venus. It's taking longer than expected for a number of reasons, namely one of my editors doesn't want to work in W10 which is a pain in the arse. Hoping to find a fix for this. Other reason is there's actually quite a bit to do to get it to all blend in with the rest of Genesis

This week i've managed to finish the Venus system and moved on to the Earth system which also has our Moon in it. Added a few extras to the system, sorted out the bases and planets and have the basic encounters up and running. Patrol paths are next and then this system will be done as well.

As you can see i'm now working on the Jupiter system. Last week i finished off the Asteroid Belt system which sits between Mars and Jupiter. I may be here a while due to the sheer size of this system, it is huge, but then it has to be. Trick will be to make it interesting. I've added a couple of things you might find entertaining, especially if you've read any Asimov.

Okay so the weekly update has stretched a bit. A few delays for various reasons, one of which was my main HD decided to die. Luckily everything was backed up, only thing lost was time. So where am I now? Well all the systems are now finished so that's the good news. Not so good news is there's still plenty left to do. I've now moved back to Mercury and doing a second pass on the system, something that will have to be done on all the new systems. Currently naming all the npcs on the bases and adding in custom news items. This may take a while

Koszonom szepen. Right, a little update. I'm kind of done with the new systems, all the systems have been built and are finished. All the new bases, asteroid fields etc are all in. All the encounters are done, all the new patrol paths, hundreds of the damn things are done. All the npcs have been added to the new bases and generic news items are done. All the store stuff, equipment and commodities are in. The only thing i have left are custom news items, which i have to think up and getting the pricing right for the base commodities, this is going to take time and fry my brain, but it will be done I'd say about 90% finished now...

On a side note, i've fixed the problems with the Pachyderm freighters. They no longer circle around some bases taking forever to dock, so if you have one, and i've put a load more in the next version, they will definitely dock properly

Decided to add in a working Ithaca Research Station in Liberty, always good for a new character as a temporary base for nailing those nasty Liberty Rogues. Experimenting with adding a few custom rooms to certain locations, if this doesn't work i will not carry on down this road as it is very time consuming. All the systems are finished, just the economy to sort out now...

A total redo of all the encounters and patrol paths is under way, luckily almost done with that now as i've been at it for weeks. This should hopefully tidy up any crashes that sometimes happened, especially in Sigma 13 and Sigma 19 which most certainly had issues. Added in a new faction as well, Interpork, who specialise in transporting square pigs, for those that remember the movie Space Truckers

Still stuck in my modding shed. Fixed a massive crash in one of the new systems, took me a few days to trace the issue which was encounter based as usual. Plodding through and tidying up stuff as i go, vanilla systems have all been redone with updated encounters and patrol paths. I just want to finish this now, so close and yet so far...
