Have played for 3 hours and had 2 crashes. Both in Californina, on missions from Willard Research Sta. in Southern part of system, and flying a patriot. The first, took mission and was headed to waypoint when told to drop a pirate pilot- game crashed when dropped (repeated with same result). Second, just finished a mission and was tractoring in a pirate pilot and game crashed. Missions and pirate pilots in and out of cargo seem to be common cause...

scarz, scarz, what am i going to do with you? Give you a medal for starters. You are of course quite right there is a problem, but thankfully it's nothing to do with the pirate pilots but actually the Patriot itself. I managed to replicate the problem by buying one on Manhattan and bought some cargo, popped outside, opened the cargo bay and got a ctd for my troubles. As you are aware, this is not the same Patriot that shipped with the game, as i replaced it with the one currently in the mod. There's some animation code the game is looking for which isn't there in this model, and that's what's causing the crash. There is a simple fix. 1. Deactivate Genesis in mod manager 2. Goto this directory DATA/SHIPS/shiparch.ini 3. Open shiparch.ini with notepad. At the very top just under the generic pilot entry is the first ship entry for the li_fighter. Scroll down a little until you come to this section,bay_door_anim = Sc_open baydoor bay_doors_open_snd = cargo_doors_open bay_doors_close_snd = cargo_doors_close HP_bay_surface = HpBayDoor01 HP_bay_external = HpBayDoor02Add a semi colon to these three lines, so it looks like this,;bay_door_anim = Sc_open baydoor bay_doors_open_snd = cargo_doors_open bay_doors_close_snd = cargo_doors_close ;HP_bay_surface = HpBayDoor01 ;HP_bay_external = HpBayDoor02It's actually the last two lines commented out that cure the problem but the animation call in the first line is a waste as well which is why i commented it out. 4. SAVE the file. Activate the mod and all will be well.You might have to sell the ship, buy a Starflier, then buy the Patriot again and it should all work well after that. I've looked at the other ships and can't see a similar problem but then it's 00:45 and i'm tired now so it's possible i missed another one, assuming there is another one. Hope that helps

Thanks for the fix. Although I have moved on to the Defender,I will edit the files in the event I start another character...

Ok, scarz found another one, this time the Defender IIA. This ship suffers from the same problem, luckily an equally easy fix is at hand.
1. Open FLMM and deactivate the mod. 2. In the Genesis 1.0 mod folder which sits in the mod folder within mod manager, simply open the main Genesis 1.0 mod folder and you will discover a bunch of what's called script files. Scroll down until you come across
Mancer Defender IIA
click on this to highlight it, not double click, then with your right mouse button select open with. You will get various options but select notepad and this file will open in notepad for easy editing.
3. In the large main section at the top, about halfway down you will find this section,
HP_bay_surface = HpBayDoor01 HP_bay_external = HpBayDoor02 bay_doors_open_snd = cargo_doors_open bay_doors_close_snd = cargo_doors_close
Change this so it looks like this,
;HP_bay_surface = HpBayDoor01 ;HP_bay_external = HpBayDoor02 bay_doors_open_snd = cargo_doors_open bay_doors_close_snd = cargo_doors_close
SAVE the file. Activate the mod and it should all work ok.
If there's anymore like this i'll release a patch but it won't be until after easter, this gives time to detect a few more bugs if they show up.

hi there did what you said to change this file tried to save it with notepad but it said access denied i must be doing something not right

For anyone having issues working out how to do it all manually, here's the first fix for the Patriot issue. Unzip the file and inside is a file called shiparch.ini. Remember, deactivate the mod first in mod manager. Find the Genesis Mod folder in mod manager and do the following, Goto DATA/SHIPS/shiparch.ini And replace the shiparch.ini file with the new one Activate the mod. Attachments:

Hi Gibbon, I've found a small issue in the New York system: the Texas jump gate seems to be called "New York jump gate". Also, not sure if this is expected, but, again in New York, there are no patrol paths except for one neutral around New Manhattan.

Hi rasetti, and thanks for reporting these. Neither is a bug. The texas jump gate is called the NY->Texas Jumpgate as i'm looking at it as i type, that's totally normal, don't think i even touched the coding for that, so it's the same in vanilla. As to the patrol paths, for the release they have been removed due to the planet resizing. I do have the ones i originally planned to use which i might make available as long as i can make sure they are stable as they were all custom made scarzI'll have a poke around there and see if i can work out the issue.

Gibbon, happen again when I was leaving S17 Set a waypoing to S13 from F7 and about halfway CTD. Repeated and got the same. However, tried it without the waypoint and had no problem...

Hi Gibbon, Sorry, my bad, I meant Texas "jump hole", not jump gate. Still, it might be what's expected, but I'm pretty sure that before the it was "Texas jump hole". I don't have the screen shot right here, but it's on the bottom right of the New York system map, in the Badlands. About the patrol paths, I'd love to see your custom ones
