I've only once driven 900-1000km in one day but that was years ago. Howmany times did you stop? only when you had to fill up gas? Thats a pretty long time then I can go about 350-400km on a tank now(same as my old bike btw! and that with a 7 litres less). But I need a short break every 1,5 hours orso. The ferry is also a nice relax moment. Just thinking about a possibility to drive up to Denmark/Sweden sometime.

i stopped only for fuel, about every 300km. I mean we're all human, i need a break after that lol, so 20/30 min stops at each fill up. Ferry is 45 mins. Don't forget i was coming home so eager to get back. When you are not in a rush, you can take as long as you want. Beer waiting for you if you decide to vist

I know, when you go on holiday you need to do that in a relaxed way. But the highway's in germany are not so interesting apart from an occasional bridge with views of a nice valley. So you rather get through there as quickly as possible.
It also depends if you drive solo or with a passenger. With one on the back you need to stop about every hour. Sitting in a fixed position isn´t that nice for a long time. also think that about 500/600km a day would be enough so we have to spend the night halfway.
But with a beer waiting, I´m sure that´ll help not delaying too much ;D
